Album Notes & Community Reviews

Following up the massive success of his She & Him collaboration, the Portland singer-songwriter delivers a meticulously crafted, retro-leaning solo effort. The album heavily utilizes orchestral string arrangements and prominent guest vocals from Zooey Deschanel and Lucinda Williams, expanding his dusty, Americana roots into grand, Brill Building-style pop. It was widely acclaimed as his most ambitious and sonically rich studio achievement to date.
