Circles
by Mac Miller
Released posthumously, 'Circles' was conceived as a companion piece to 'Swimming', completing the conceptual loop of “swimming in circles”. Producer Jon Brion finished the album, moving away from pure hip-hop to craft a sound rooted in singer-songwriter traditions, funk, and soft rock, featuring Miller's relaxed, often sung vocals. The album's lyrical themes are deeply introspective, exploring mental health, weariness, and a search for peace against a backdrop of mellow, synth-layered instrumentation.
