Album Notes & Community Reviews

Recorded at the Stadtgarten in Cologne, this legendary live set captures James Brown's iconic saxophonist operating at the absolute peak of his solo powers. Joined by fellow JB alumni Fred Wesley and Pee Wee Ellis, the band delivers a relentless, masterclass performance in heavy, improvisational funk. The album cemented his legacy as a bandleader and became a foundational textbook for modern funk and jam bands.
