Releasing right at the peak of the nu-metal explosion, the Oakland groove metal pioneers heavily integrated hip-hop cadences and bouncy, down-tuned riffs. Its commercial momentum was severely derailed by its unfortunate release proximity to the September 11th attacks, stalling the band's career until their later thrash revival.
