Album Notes & Community Reviews

Originating from Ohio but transplanted to the Bay Area, this intense quintet delivered one of the most abrasive and claustrophobic debuts of the psychedelic era. Dominated by Lawrence Hammond's quivering, anguished vocals and jagged, intertwining guitars, the record presents a deeply pessimistic, anti-war narrative that starkly contrasted with the 'Summer of Love' ethos.
