Maddy Prior's partnership with the Carnival Band began with a BBC radio programme of carols in 1984, pairing the Steeleye Span singer with an ensemble playing shawms, curtal, fife and other period instruments under Andy Watts. 'Carols & Capers' collects English gallery carols and dances including 'While Shepherds Watched' and 'Tomorrow Shall Be My Dancing Day'.
