Album Notes & Community Reviews
Recorded with Steve Albini in Chicago, this album serves as a conceptual tribute to late bassist Evan Farrell, who tragically died in a fire. Jason Molina's songwriting is exceptionally mournful and evocative, utilizing rich pedal steel and saxophone to soundtrack existential meditations on loss, ghosts, and the American Midwest. It stands as the final, deeply poignant studio album released by the group before Molina's own passing.
