Album Notes & Community Reviews
A groundbreaking album that introduced drummer and producer Makaya McCraven's unique 'organic beat music' concept. 'In the Moment' was created by recording hours of live, improvised performances and then editing, looping, and post-producing the material in the studio. The result is a brilliant fusion of the spontaneity of live jazz with the aesthetics of modern hip-hop production. The album was a critical sensation and established McCraven as a major new innovator.
