Album Notes & Community Reviews

For their fourteenth studio effort, the Welsh rock veterans largely composed the tracks on piano rather than guitar, resulting in a markedly different sonic texture. 'The Ultra Vivid Lament' embraces a polished, 1970s-inspired pop-rock sound, featuring lush vocal harmonies and guest appearances from Mark Lanegan and Julia Cumming. The album successfully secured the band their first UK Number 1 in over twenty years.
