Album Notes & Community Reviews

Deepening their immersion into high fantasy and Arthurian legend, Manilla Road crafted a towering, triumphant masterpiece of epic heavy metal. Mark Shelton's distinctly nasal, impassioned vocals narrate sweeping conceptual battles over intricate, highly energetic riffing that borders on early thrash. 'Open the Gates' is a fiercely independent, ambitious highlight of the American power metal movement.
