Album Notes & Community Reviews
The avant-garde guitar virtuoso continues his affectionate, slightly skewed tribute to the classic Cuban repertoire of Arsenio Rodr铆guez. Backed by a tightly rehearsed ensemble, Ribot infuses traditional Latin rhythms with his signature jagged, dissonant jazz-rock phrasing. The resulting project is a vibrant, technically astonishing collision of downtown New York experimentation and authentic son cubano.
