Album Notes & Community Reviews

Meaning 'Claw' or 'Grit' in Portuguese, this MPB landmark brilliantly disguises subtle political critique beneath lush, heavily orchestrated samba-soul and baroque pop arrangements. The Brazilian songwriter effortlessly weaves together funk grooves and intricate acoustic guitar playing, capturing the tense social climate of military-ruled Brazil while delivering undeniable pop hooks. It is widely considered the absolute pinnacle of his early 1970s creative output.
