Album Notes & Community Reviews

Backing away slightly from the overt pop psychedelia of his previous works, the bossa nova pioneer collaborated with the progressive rock band O Ter莽o for this lush, deeply eclectic album. The arrangements incorporate prominent rock instrumentation alongside traditional Brazilian rhythms, delivering subtly subversive political messages under a veneer of breezy, sun-drenched melodies. It remains a sophisticated highlight of his highly creative 70s output.
