Album Notes & Community Reviews

Returning to his native Brazil after a stint in the United States, the songwriter shifted decisively away from breezy bossa nova into socially conscious, politically aware MPB. The deeply poetic, acoustic-driven title track notably features an uncredited, debut recording performance by the legendary Milton Nascimento. The album's sophisticated orchestral arrangements brilliantly frame its subtle but poignant protests against the Brazilian military dictatorship.
