Album Notes & Community Reviews

Recorded at the legendary Sun Studio, this autobiographical debut revitalized classic, no-nonsense honky-tonk for a new era. Selling her personal belongings to finance the sessions, the singer-songwriter spins raw, lived-in narratives of hardship that sharply rebuked the polished nature of contemporary country pop.
