Album Notes & Community Reviews

Produced by her brother Caetano Veloso, the celebrated Brazilian vocalist delivered a sweeping, highly theatrical masterwork of MPB. The album is incredibly diverse, blending dramatic orchestration and subtle jazz phrasing with her famously intense, poetic vocal delivery. It serves as a towering emotional and artistic peak within her extensive catalog, deeply resonant with the cultural shifts of 1970s Brazil.
