Album Notes & Community Reviews

Revisiting the bold, theatrical pop-rock aesthetics of her earlier work, 'Ancient Dreams in a Modern Land' finds MARINA delivering a confident, culturally conscious statement. The album's first half functions as a sharp, politically charged critique of modern capitalism and patriarchy, while the second half retreats into intimate, piano-driven reflections on personal heartbreak. Co-produced with James Flannigan, the record offers a potent mix of biting intellect and shimmering pop hooks.
