Album Notes & Community Reviews
Reuniting the celebrated Rubisa Patrol duo, the trumpeter and pianist construct a deeply introspective and remarkably spacious instrumental dialogue. 'We Begin' operates heavily on minimal, sustained piano chords and melancholic, electronic-tinged brass. The album exemplifies the pristine, contemplative aesthetic that defined the ECM Records catalog throughout the decade.
