Keyboardist Martin Kratochv铆l led the prominent Czechoslovakian ensemble Jazz Q through another stunning display of technical jazz fusion. 'Hodokvas' is characterized by heavy Moog synthesizer lines interlocked with driving, highly syncopated rhythms, drawing from both traditional Eastern European melodies and contemporary funk. It is a key release highlighting the vibrancy of jazz-rock behind the Iron Curtain.
