Released as the second chapter of John Zorn's ambitious exploration of traditional Jewish melodies, the quartet delivers a profoundly energetic, highly improvisational set. Featuring Joey Baron's remarkably fluid trumpet playing alongside Zorn's frantic saxophone, the acoustic jazz arrangements masterfully bridge ancient Klezmer scales with fierce, Ornette Coleman-inspired free jazz.
