Album Notes & Community Reviews

John Zorn's legendary jazz quartet continued their ambitious exploration of traditional Jewish music through the highly improvisational lens of Ornette Coleman's avant-garde framework. The incredibly tight, remarkably frenetic interplay between Zorn's saxophone and Dave Douglas's trumpet drives the rhythmically complex, highly energetic compositions. The highly acclaimed recording remains a definitive testament to the group's unparalleled technical proficiency and profound cultural synthesis.
