Album Notes & Community Reviews
Recorded across multiple sets at the iconic, now-defunct New York jazz club Tonic, this release captures John Zorn's acoustic quartet in phenomenal form. The recording beautifully showcases the deep empathy between the musicians as they rapidly pivot from mournful Jewish folk melodies into explosive, Ornette Coleman-style free-jazz squalls.
