Album Notes & Community Reviews

Recorded at Montreal's Hotel2Tango Studio and issued by Canadian label Tour de Bras, 'Feldspar' documents an improvised trio summit uniting alto saxophonist Matana Roberts with electric guitarist Sam Shalabi and double bassist Nicolas Caloia. Named after seven distinct minerals, the tracks contrast Roberts' blues-steeped melodic lyricism against jagged, pointillistic string dissonance.
