Album Notes & Community Reviews

Issued on Chicago imprint 482 Music, 'Sticks and Stones' is the self-titled debut album from the collaborative trio of alto saxophonist Matana Roberts, double bassist Joshua Abrams, and drummer Chad Taylor. Spanning eleven tracks鈥攊ncluding original compositions by all three members alongside a reinterpretation of Junior Delgado and Lee Perry's 'Sons O Slaves'鈥攖he record showcases telepathic Chicago avant-garde jazz interplay.
