Album Notes & Community Reviews

Mates of State's debut album pairs Kori Gardner's organ and keyboards with Jason Hammel's drumming, both partners singing across twelve tracks of indie pop and twee pop. Recorded with engineer John Croslin, its minimal, stripped-down arrangements and piano-led melodic structures define the duo formed in Lawrence, Kansas before relocating to San Francisco.
