The former electronic producer delivers an agonizingly beautiful, deeply pessimistic record of gothic folk and Spanish guitar. Exploring themes of impending doom and the illusory nature of peace (hence the title), Elliott utilizes his resonant baritone and delicate fingerpicking to create an incredibly tense, mournful atmosphere. It is a masterful, deeply cinematic rumination on personal and societal collapse.
