Best Coast Jazz

Album Notes & Community Reviews

Assembling a sprawling, bi-coastal all-star group, the legendary drummer guides a massive, exceptionally energetic blowing session. The album essentially features a single, sprawling jam built around a simple blues riff, providing ample room for the extended, highly competitive improvisations of the formidable horn frontline. It stands as a thrilling, unfiltered document of the high-velocity, deeply swinging capabilities of mid-century jazz masters operating without rigid charts.
