Album Notes & Community Reviews
Recorded in Chicago with a newly assembled, brilliant quintet featuring Booker Little and George Coleman, the foundational drummer pushes the boundaries of the hard bop framework. The complex, highly melodic compositions are driven by his revolutionary, polyrhythmic approach to the drum kit. It marks a period of intense creativity and forward-thinking structural ambition for the legendary bandleader.
