From Kinshasa

Formed by former members of Staff Benda Bilili, the Congolese collective partnered with Irish producer Doctor L to create a radically futuristic African dance record. The traditional soukous rhythms and rumba vocals are violently filtered through heavy post-punk distortion, dub echoes, and abrasive electronic production. The groundbreaking fusion won massive international acclaim for reinventing the contemporary sound of Kinshasa.
