Following the acrimonious split of the highly influential 3rd Bass, the Jewish-American emcee launched his solo career with this incredibly sturdy boom-bap offering. 'Return of the Product' features thick, sample-heavy East Coast production and Serch's characteristically clever, pop-culture-laden punchlines. The album holds a vital place in hip-hop history for featuring the commercial debut verse of a then-unknown Nas on the track 'Halftime'.
