My Elixir; My Poison

Album Notes & Community Reviews

The Oxford-based collective distinguishes themselves within the crowded post-rock landscape by anchoring their expansive, guitar-driven crescendos with commanding, poetic spoken-word vocals. The darkly atmospheric music ebbs and flows between delicate ambiance and ferocious distortion, perfectly underscoring the bleak, highly narrative lyricism. The intensely dramatic delivery makes it a uniquely compelling outlier in early 2000s British independent music.
