Album Notes & Community Reviews
Completely abandoning the frantic hardcore noise of their debut, the Meat Puppets pioneered a deeply psychedelic, sun-baked fusion of country, folk, and punk rock. The Kirkwood brothers utilize beautifully ragged, acoustic-tinged guitar interplay and off-key vocal harmonies to evoke a raw, surreal, and incredibly warm desert atmosphere. It is a highly influential, pastoral classic that laid the crucial foundation for alt-country and 90s grunge.
