Album Notes & Community Reviews

Attempting to follow up their massive mainstream breakthrough, the Meat Puppets aggressively embrace a notably darker, heavily distorted sonic palette on 'No Joke!'. The album strips away much of their earlier acoustic country-punk charm, leaning heavily into sludgy, drug-addled heavy rock and grinding alternative metal riffs. The recording starkly reflects the band's intense internal and personal struggles during the mid-90s alternative era.
