The World Needs a Hero
by Megadeth
Attempting to reverse the commercial, radio-rock trajectory of their late 1990s output, Dave Mustaine explicitly intended for this album to be a return to the band's aggressive thrash roots. 'The World Needs a Hero' features the debut of guitarist Al Pitrelli and showcases a darker, more cynical lyrical focus. While structurally heavier than its immediate predecessors, the record retains a deliberate, mid-tempo approach to its classic metal riffing.
