Album Notes & Community Reviews

Recorded during a prolific period of capturing aging bluesmen for the folk revival audience, 'All Kinds of Blues' is a stark, unadorned showcase of Memphis Slim's foundational talents. Stripped of his usual rhythm section, the LP highlights his masterful, rolling boogie-woogie piano figures and deep, expressive vocals. It functions as an intimate, historical survey of traditional midwestern and southern blues forms.
