Album Notes & Community Reviews

Focusing intensely on her pioneering extended vocal techniques, this ECM recording showcases Monk's remarkable ability to manipulate the human voice as a lead instrument. The wordless, polyphonic compositions oscillate between dizzying, avant-garde chamber minimalism and deeply emotive, wordless choral landscapes.
