Album Notes & Community Reviews

Backed by his veteran ensemble The Strangers, the outlaw country pioneer delivered a mature, reflective collection of honky-tonk ballads and traditionalist anthems. The title track became a defining working-class manifesto, cementing the artist's creative resurgence during an era heavily dominated by slicker crossover country styles.
