Album Notes & Community Reviews

Joseph Mount's quirky electronic project transitioned from instrumental laptop beats into a proper indie-pop band on this breakthrough sophomore record. The album brilliantly details the dizzying, awkward realities of British clubbing through incredibly catchy, stuttering synthesizer basslines and Mount's distinctive falsetto vocals. Propelled by massive alternative hits like 'Heartbreaker', it became a definitive text of the late-2000s nu-rave adjacent movement.
