Album Notes & Community Reviews

The Austrian avant-garde trumpeter and composer assembled a remarkable ensemble including Carla Bley, Nick Mason, and the London Symphony Orchestra string section for this dense, brooding work. The compositions successfully bridge heavily structured modern classical orchestration with intricate jazz-rock improvisation. It is a distinctly somber, highly intellectual peak in the catalog of the WATT record label.
