Album Notes & Community Reviews

The legendary Bad Seeds multi-instrumentalist crafted a remarkably lush, deeply sophisticated tribute album entirely dedicated to the legendary French songwriter Serge Gainsbourg. Harvey meticulously translated the deeply poetic, highly romantic French lyrics into English, performing them over incredibly moody, incredibly elegant chamber-pop orchestrations. The highly atmospheric, deeply nocturnal recording wonderfully captured the smoky, deeply cynical essence of Gainsbourg's iconic 1960s pop masterpieces.
