Wildheart

Album Notes & Community Reviews

Infusing his sensual, high-definition R&B formula with massive washes of fuzzy guitars and hazy psychedelia, the singer delivered one of the most adventurous mainstream pop records of the year. The songwriting tackles profound existential anxieties, racial identity, and unbridled eroticism against a distinctly Californian, neon-lit backdrop. It firmly distanced him from his commercial peers, establishing him as a genuine musical auteur.
