Album Notes & Community Reviews

The California garage-rock stalwart vastly expands his sonic ambitions for his third solo outing, integrating traditional string and horn arrangements alongside his signature fuzz-drenched guitars. The record is famously split into two halves, with the B-side operating as an intricate, continuous six-part conceptual suite about personal growth and existential anxiety. It effectively elevated his status from a dependable garage-punk sideman to a formidable pop composer.
