"Disco!"

Album Notes & Community Reviews

Entirely self-produced under his dj blackpower alias, the New York rapper crafted a hazy, uniquely uplifting entry into his usually melancholic discography. The record heavily loops pitched-up R&B and soul samples, creating a surreal, lo-fi atmosphere over which he delivers his signature mumbled, deeply introspective verses. It serves as an intimate and remarkably cohesive underground hip-hop masterclass in sample manipulation.
