May God Bless Your Hustle

Album Notes & Community Reviews

Released independently when the rapper was barely eighteen years old, this mixtape served as the foundational bedrock for the New York sLUms movement. The project utilizes incredibly murky, pitch-shifted soul samples and disjointed, drumless loops to soundtrack MIKE's mumbled, diaristic reflections on teenage depression and urban survival. It became a massively influential turning point in modern underground, lo-fi hip-hop.
