Renaissance Man

Album Notes & Community Reviews

Released exactly a year after his breakout mixtape, the young New York rapper delivers a deeply introspective, beautifully hazy underground hip-hop record. Entirely self-produced under his dj blackpower alias, the album relies heavily on incredibly muffled, soulful sample loops and his signature mumbled, profoundly lethargic vocal delivery to explore grief and artistic independence. It solidified his reputation as a leading prodigy within the modern abstract rap scene.
