Showbiz!

Album Notes & Community Reviews

On 'Showbiz!', MIKE returns to the sample-heavy, hazy abstract hip-hop that has defined his sound, moving away from the trap-oriented production of his recent collaborative work. The extensive 24-track album features MIKE’s characteristic knotty wordplay and emotionally resonant reflections, with production largely handled by his alias DJ Blackpower and contributions from producers like Thelonious Martin. With a minimal guest list including 454 and duendita, the album's sound is built on loose, minimal lo-fi beats, drumless compositions with vaporwave samples, and pitched-up soul vocals.
