Album Notes & Community Reviews
Theodorakis composed 'Romiossini' after being beaten in a violent police clash during the Epiphany celebrations of 1966, setting nine songs from Yannis Ritsos's 1945 poem of Greek endurance and resistance. Grigoris Bithikotsis sings the cycle, and the album became a major popular success in Greece in the final months before the military dictatorship.
