Album Notes & Community Reviews

Placing a universally respected session bassist in a rare leadership role, this recording emphasizes deep, resonant timekeeping and intricate rhythmic interplay. The small-group charts provide ample space for melodic bass solos, subverting the instrument's traditional background status. It stands as a testament to the essential foundational work that characterized the highest echelons of the New York studio scene.
