Album Notes & Community Reviews

Leading an incredibly tight instrumental ensemble, the foundational bossa nova drummer propels the genre forward with dizzying, jazz-influenced agility. 'V锚' is characterized by rapid-fire tempos, intricate rhythmic displacement, and brilliant interplay among the musicians. The record is a stunning exhibition of the heavily syncopated, energetic 'sambalan莽o' style that dominated mid-sixties Rio de Janeiro.
