Album Notes & Community Reviews

Emerging from the legendary CBGB punk scene, Willy DeVille and his band favored a romantic, streetwise blend of R&B, traditional rock and roll, and Latin soul over abrasive punk aesthetics. Produced by the legendary Jack Nitzsche, the debut perfectly captures the gritty, poetic essence of New York City's urban landscape. The record stands as a soulful, timeless outlier in the era's frantic alternative rock explosion.
